Building Memories, Not Just Adventure.

As we wrap up the heart of summer and move into fall at Downeast Adventures, I’ve been reflecting on what drives us.

Our mission has always been bigger than renting RZRs or organizing rides. Our focus is on drawing more people to the Machias and Downeast region—showcasing this place we call home as a true destination. From comfortable lodging and fantastic local restaurants to outdoor experience-based businesses like ours, Machias has everything visitors need to fall in love with the Bold Coast.

At Downeast Adventures, we emphasize creating lasting memories for our guests. The goal isn’t just that they come once—it’s that they return year after year because they’ve built a connection with this area and the people here.

That’s why relationships are at the core of our strategy. For us, it’s never just a transaction. It’s about knowing our customers on a first-name basis, learning what excites them, and gaining insights into what works and what we can do better.

This doesn’t just strengthen our business—it strengthens our community as a whole. When people leave Machias talking about their adventure, the food they enjoyed, and the hospitality they experienced, it lifts all of us.
